Our Services

Full service civil engineering and surveying solutions

U&R plays a critical role in the land development and construction process, with multiple services specific to site development planning, design and construction. U&R develops solutions for meeting the civil engineering requirements associated with urban planners, architects, cities, school districts, the community, and clients. We then create civil engineering designs and plans, obtain feedback and implement.

U&R staff keep up-to-date on development requirements impacting civil engineering and surveying projects in order to facilitate and shorten the development process. Many clients rely on U&R to recommend local, state and federal agency contacts to the design and construction team as well as to understand the special requirements that exist in each market sector.

NEW IN 2022! California SB9 Subdivision Services

Did You Know? As a licensed surveying and civil engineering firm, U&R is uniquely qualified to provide the services required to subdivide under the new SB9 regulations.

SB9, the California Housing Opportunity and More Efficiency (“HOME”) Act, facilitates the process for homeowners to subdivide their current residential lot or build a duplex. This bill signed by Governor Newsom on 9/16/2021 and effective 1/01/2022, mandates all cities and counties in California to ministerially approve these types of developments. This means if you own a single-family home property in California you may be able to create a second property and sell it for a big profit, with a relatively small investment.

There are many restrictions and development standards that must be met.  Only California licensed land surveyors can prepare the required subdivision documents. Principal Engineers Frank Rosenblum and Matt Kamkar both serve on boards in the community that are involved in the development of standards for these projects. U&R has geared up to provide land surveying and engineering services and help navigate clients through the process.
